ABOUT FOUR STAR LACROSSE

FOUR STAR LACROSSE CAMPS have continued to grow because of its commitment to excellence and its concern for the young men who participate in our programs.  It is our hope that every participant, coach and administrator will have a positive athletic and social experience and feel excited about the game of lacrosse and the Four Star programs.

Our commitment starts with our staff; the HS coaches are supported by a well-organized administrative staff.  The administrators lift the burden of operations off the coaches so they can perform the important tasks of teaching and coaching their players.  All staff members are trained prior to camp to ensure smooth and focused operations during the camp program.  The Jr high program will be staffed with young college and HS assistant coaches.

Four Star also features a Director of Security to ensure accurate accountability of campers both on and off the field.   We also have a medical staff on duty 24 hours a day.  In support of this effort Four Star has a state of the art communications network that links staff, security and medical personnel 24 hours a day.

Last years camp at Farmingdale State College was a great success.  In the past 15 years Four Star Lacrosse Camp has been held at several top colleges in the Northeast.  The Executive Directors
have decided the due to the economic situation that we all are facing that it would be prudent to bring the camp to Long Island and make it affordable to all.  This year’s camp will be held at Farmingdale State College.  We have access to 8 fields (including a new turf field), a pool and their indoor facility.  We also have access to dorms and the cafeteria for out of town teams.

We will use a tournament format for the JV and Varsity teams and a full day camp format for the
Jr high teams.  The JV and varsity teams will play 8 games (4 fifteen minute running time quarters) with two referees.  Out of town teams may request a compacted schedule to suit their travel plans.  The Jr high program will run 2 sessions per day which will include 1 hour of teaching and a 50 minute game each session.

We had competitive games, a speed camp and great food.  This year we are inviting 16 of the top programs in the northeast to compete in our “Elite” division.   Once 16 programs commit, other teams, partial teams and individuals will play in our “varsity” division.  We expect some college coaches to attend; they like coming to Four Star because they see the players in a familiar environment, playing with their team.  This is a great way to make your team better and meet some outstanding players from the northeast. We intend to expand our speed training and weight room instruction.

The Four Star on-field program is intense and well organized, it is designed for teams and individuals to learn new techniques play competitive games and improve one’s speed and strength.  Each session is fundamentally intensive with constant teaching of the most recent techniques of the game. WE NEVER OVERLOOK FUNDIMENTALS!  The campers are put in a healthy competitive situation every session.
